Job summary

Exact Automation Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson responsible for detailed 2D electrical schematics and 3D mechanical drawings for fabrication, assembly, and wiring. You will collaborate with Project/Service Engineers to translate concepts into design drawings and produce GA, fabrication, installation, and as-built drawings.

The role requires 1–3 years drafting experience, familiarity with ProgeCAD and SolidWorks, and the ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering specs.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Drafting Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–3 years of drafting experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial Automation, or Manufacturing.
• Experience in electrical control panel design and mechanical skid fabrication/ piping/ structural layout is an added advantage.
• High Proficient skills in ProgeCAD (2D Drafting).
• Advanced or Intermediate skills in SolidWorks (3D Modelling & Drawing).
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and drafting standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering specifications and P&IDs
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project/service team.
• Good & positive attitude with strong willingness to support and help the team member.
• Demonstrate discipline, accountability, and dependability by consistently meeting commitments, maintaining punctuality, and delivering assigned tasks on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D electrical schematic drawings & develop 3D models mechanical drawing for fabrication, assembly and wiring works.
• Work closely with Project/ Service Engineers to translate engineering concepts into design drawings.
• Produce General Arrangement (GA), fabrication, assembly, installation, and as-built drawings.
• Produce mechanical fabrication drawings including piping layouts, supports, structural steel, brackets, skids, and equipment assemblies.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, applicable engineering standards, and customer requirements.
• Review engineering mark-ups and incorporate revisions accurately.
• Coordinate with fabrication, assembly, and site teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
• Identify potential operational issues and re-design products to improve functionality.
• Assist in project documentation, verification and records. Create documentation package and verify accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and maintain drawing templates and drafting standards
• Support project / service / proposal team in others job related duties as required.

Job description
