Engineering Coordinator

We are currently looking for talented individuals to join us for the following role.

We are currently based at KL Eco City, Malaysia.

Join MODEC’s KL Engineering Management Team to coordinate the end-to-end delivery of FPSO topsides/Marine from proposal stage, FEED to delivery. You will be responsible for schedules (Level 3/4, MDR) to on‑time engineering deliverables, change control, and interface close‑outs with Class, Client, and site teams. You will partner across disciplines, procurement, HSE, QA/QC, operations, and construction; manage subcontractors and specialists; support resource planning and risk assessments; and drive quality throughout fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start‑up. You will likely bring at least 12+ years’ experience, FPSO exposure, strong planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Engineering Coordination: Coordinate with the engineering disciplines assigned to the project and work closely with project management, procurement, HSE, QA/QC, operations and construction team and meet or where possible to exceed on time deliverables maintaining the quality and safety.
  • Engineering Setup: Coordinate with the engineering disciplines to set up Engineering and Design systems, Engineering Schedule, Master document Register (MDR), Procurement Schedule.
  • Engineering Deliverables: Coordinate with the engineering disciplines to issue all deliverables as per schedule.
  • Engineering Schedule: Develop Level 3 and Level 4 (MDR) schedules of Topsides/Hull Engineering.
  • Management of Changes: Implement engineering change management for the Topsides/Hull engineering post design freeze in all disciplines including communication, tracking and approval by the relevant stakeholders.
  • Engineering Interfaces: Coordinate with Engineering disciplines to respond and close out of Class Society comments, Client Technical Queries, Site Queries and Operation Queries.
  • Subcontractor Management: Coordinate with the Detailed Engineering subcontractors and Third Party specialists.
  • Engineering Resources: Support Engineering Manager in forecasting and mobilizing engineering and design resources.
  • Risk Assessment: Support Engineering Manager and project management in review, risk assessment, and close‑out of engineering issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with minimum 12 years experience or Masters Degree in Engineering with minimum 10 years experience.
  • Specialist knowledge of at least one FPSO.
  • Working knowledge of competing and alternative technologies.
  • Have adequate knowledge of design codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar in use of Software, Database systems related to Engineering functions.
