Job summary

Johnson Controls in Malaysia is seeking a qualified Security Systems Service and Maintenance professional to execute preventive maintenance on access control, CCTV, and VMS, ensuring system integrity and adherence to contractual SLAs. You will lead troubleshooting, coordinate with OEMs, perform root-cause analysis, and support system upgrades, migrations, and testing.

A Bachelor's in electrical/electronics and 3–5 years of hands-on experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Security certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on experience in the Security Systems Service and Maintenance environment.
• Strong experience supporting and maintaining Access Control, CCTV, and VMS.
• Experience with enterprise-level security platforms such as LenelS2, CCURE, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Exacqvision, AMAG.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance activities per contract and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Lead troubleshooting and fault rectification for security systems and perform RCA.
• Provide technical support and administer Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Assist in projects, upgrades, site surveys, testing, and commissioning.
• Prepare and submit service reports and maintain asset information.

What you will do:

Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with contractual obligations and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Conduct comprehensive system health checks and performance assessments.
• Review maintenance findings and recommend corrective actions or system improvements.
• Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are completed within the agreed schedule.
• Verify and maintain the operational integrity of:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Video Management Systems (VMS)
  • Door Controllers
  • Card Readers/Field Devices
  • Security Management Platforms
  • Security Network Infrastructure

Corrective Maintenance (CM)

• Lead troubleshooting and fault rectification activities for security systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, firmware, database, and network-related issues.
• Perform system recovery and restoration activities following equipment failures.
• Manage and resolve complex technical incidents within contractual SLA requirements.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and technical support teams for advanced troubleshooting.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide recommendations to prevent recurring issues.
• Validate system functionality and operational performance after corrective actions.

Technical Support & System Administration

• Provide technical support and advisory services to customers and security operations teams.
• Manage and administer Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Support:
  • Cardholder management
  • Access level administration
  • User account management
  • Database maintenance
  • System backups and restoration
  • Security system configuration changes
• Assist customers with system enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to FLSPs and junior service personnel.

Project & Upgrade Support

• Support system expansion, migration, and upgrade activities.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
• Prepare technical recommendations and implementation plans.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities for system upgrades and modifications.
• Ensure all implemented changes are properly documented and handed over to the customer.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and submit:
  • Service Reports
  • Preventive Maintenance Reports
  • Corrective Maintenance Reports
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Reports
  • Incident Reports
  • Technical Recommendations and Upgrade Proposals
• Maintain accurate service records and asset information.
• Update service tickets and customer documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company and customer documentation standards.
