Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Security Systems Service & Maintenance professional in Malaysia to plan and perform preventive maintenance, perform fault diagnosis, and provide technical guidance to customers.

You will collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure system reliability of Access Control, CCTV, and VMS platforms, while documenting activities and supporting upgrade projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering or related technical discipline.
• Security certifications are a plus.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in security systems service and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance of security systems per contract and manufacturer guidelines.
• Lead troubleshooting and fault rectification for security systems; diagnose hardware, software, firmware, database and network issues.
• Provide technical support and system administration for Access Control and CCTV systems; manage cardholders, access levels and backups.
• Support system expansion, migrations, and upgrades; conduct site surveys and prepare implementation plans.
• Prepare and submit service reports, maintenance reports, RCA reports and upgrade proposals, maintaining accurate records.

What you will do:

Preventive Maintenance (PM)

• Plan and execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities in accordance with contractual obligations and manufacturer's recommendations.
• Conduct comprehensive system health checks and performance assessments.
• Review maintenance findings and recommend corrective actions or system improvements.
• Ensure all preventive maintenance activities are completed within the agreed schedule.
• Verify and maintain the operational integrity of:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Video Management Systems (VMS)
  • Door Controllers
  • Card Readers/Field Devices
  • Security Management Platforms
  • Security Network Infrastructure

Corrective Maintenance (CM)

• Lead troubleshooting and fault rectification activities for security systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, firmware, database, and network-related issues.
• Perform system recovery and restoration activities following equipment failures.
• Manage and resolve complex technical incidents within contractual SLA requirements.
• Coordinate with OEMs, vendors, and technical support teams for advanced troubleshooting.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and provide recommendations to prevent recurring issues.
• Validate system functionality and operational performance after corrective actions.

Technical Support & System Administration

• Provide technical support and advisory services to customers and security operations teams.
• Manage and administer Access Control and CCTV systems.
• Support:
  • Cardholder management
  • Access level administration
  • User account management
  • Database maintenance
  • System backups and restoration
  • Security system configuration changes
• Assist customers with system enhancements, upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to FLSPs and junior service personnel.

Project & Upgrade Support

• Support system expansion, migration, and upgrade activities.
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
• Prepare technical recommendations and implementation plans.
• Assist in testing and commissioning activities for system upgrades and modifications.
• Ensure all implemented changes are properly documented and handed over to the customer.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and submit:
  • Service Reports
  • Preventive Maintenance Reports
  • Corrective Maintenance Reports
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Reports
  • Incident Reports
  • Technical Recommendations and Upgrade Proposals
• Maintain accurate service records and asset information.
• Update service tickets and customer documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company and customer documentation standards.

What we look for:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering or any related technical discipline
• Relevant security certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum3-5 years of hands-on experiencein theSecurity Systems Service and Maintenance environment.
• Strong experience supporting and maintaining:
  • Access Control Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Video Management Systems (VMS)
• Experience with enterprise-level security platforms such as LenelS2, CCURE, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Exacqvision , AMAG, or equivalent systems is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting system integration, server, database, and network-related issues.
