Job summary

Guocera Sdn Bhd, a member of the Hong Leong Group, seeks an Automation Technician to monitor and maintain AGV/LGV systems across our production facilities in Malaysia. The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, sensors, and navigation components, and the ability to read wiring diagrams.

You will perform start-up checks, respond to incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and coordinate with vendors for system enhancements while supporting safety, maintenance records, and performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechatronic, electrical/electronic, automation engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in AGV/LGV systems, automation, robotics, or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, control systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with SCADA or industrial communication protocols is a plus.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Willing to work shifts and respond to breakdowns or emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure smooth operation of AGV/LGV systems across production areas.

• Troubleshoot equipment issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, inspections, and calibration of sensors, navigation systems, batteries, and related components.
• Support software updates, system configuration changes, and automation improvement projects.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for technical support and system enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with safety requirements and participate in risk assessment activities.
• Maintain maintenance records, incident logs, and system performance reports.

Requirements

Knowledge of PLC, sensors, control systems, and electrical troubleshooting.

Familiarity with SCADA, industrial communication protocols, or automated systems is an added advantage.

Able to read wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Willing to work shifts and support breakdown or emergencies when required.
