Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers in Kuala Lumpur invites an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team, based at Bukit Jalil, KL. You will specialize in electrical design for structural projects within our consultancy.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 5–8 years of design experience, and strong knowledge of LV/MV systems, protection, earthing and standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and design software is essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, and specs to meet project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate electrical design interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV/ICT.
• Provide technical support to site teams including reviewing submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and queries.
• Support testing, commissioning, and energization activities of electrical systems.
• Review as-built drawings and handover documentation to ensure project completion.

Job Duties

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate electrical design interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV/ICT, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support to site teams, including reviewing contractor submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system energization activities, ensuring successful implementation of electrical systems.
• Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation to ensure project completion requirements are met.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of electrical engineering design experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, LV/MV systems, protection systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with international and Malaysian standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, MS, NFPA, and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, engineering design software, technical reporting, and Microsoft Office applications, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
