Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, seeks an Electrical Engineer with 5–8 years of design experience to join our consultancy in Bukit Jalil, KL. You will prepare and review electrical designs and drawings, coordinate interfaces with other disciplines, provide site support, and assist with testing, commissioning and handover documents for local and international projects.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of electrical engineering design experience.
• Knowledge of electrical power distribution, LV/MV, protection, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, BS, MS, NFPA, and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and engineering design software; strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and documentation to meet project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV/ICT, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide site support, review contractor submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries.
• Support testing, commissioning and energization of electrical systems.
• Review as-built drawings, manuals, and handover documentation to ensure project completion.

Job Duties

• Prepare and review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate electrical design interfaces with architectural, structural, mechanical, ELV/ICT, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support to site teams, including reviewing contractor submissions, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical queries.
• Support testing, commissioning, and system energization activities, ensuring successful implementation of electrical systems.
• Review as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and handover documentation to ensure project completion requirements are met.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 to 8 years of electrical engineering design experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, LV/MV systems, protection systems, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Familiarity with international and Malaysian standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS, MS, NFPA, and IET Wiring Regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, engineering design software, technical reporting, and Microsoft Office applications, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
