Job summary

Maverick United Consulting Engineers, based in Kuala Lumpur, seeks a Lead Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer to head the PFP team on Malaysia projects. The role requires strong expertise in plumbing and fire protection systems design, with leadership and client liaison capabilities.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering and have at least 10 years in an engineering consultancy.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/building services engineering.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, BS, MS and local codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit BIM, and hydraulic calculation software.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

• Lead and mentor the Plumbing & Fire Protection engineering team, providing technical guidance and supporting resource planning.
• Review, validate, and coordinate plumbing and fire protection design deliverables across all project stages.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and interface issues.
• Support project planning, engineering estimates, risk management, value engineering, and timely project delivery.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment with strong expertise in plumbing and fire protection systems design.
• Sound knowledge of relevant industry standards and codes, including NFPA, BS, MS, and local authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (BIM), and relevant hydraulic/calculation software.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skill.
