Job summary

Primedge Consult is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its M&E Consultancy team in Malaysia. You will design building services electrical systems, prepare drawings and reports, and coordinate across disciplines to deliver projects on time.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, has hands-on experience with AutoCAD or similar software, and is prepared to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience in M&E consultancy/building services is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software is required.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel for site visits and meetings is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare electrical building services systems (power, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, ELV).
• Prepare drawings, layouts, specifications, calculations, and reports.
• Perform load, voltage drop, and cable sizing calculations.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architecture, structure, and other M&E services.
• Attend project meetings, site inspections, and discussions with clients/contractors.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and proposals.
• Monitor progress and resolve technical and site issues.
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian codes and authority requirements.
• Assist with submissions to authorities and utilities.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our M&E Consultancy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing electrical engineering design, technical support, and project coordination for building services projects in Malaysia.

Key responsibilities

Design and prepare electrical building services systems, including power distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, earthing, lightning protection, and ELV systems.

Prepare electrical engineering drawings, layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.

Carry out electrical load calculations, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, and other engineering calculations.

Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and other M&E services.

Attend project meetings, site inspections, and technical discussions with clients and contractors.

Review shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical proposals.

Monitor project progress and assist in resolving technical and site issues.

Ensure designs comply with applicable Malaysian codes, standards, and authority requirements.

Assist with submissions to relevant authorities and utility providers where required.

Perform other engineering duties related to assigned projects as required.

About you

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Relevant experience in M&E consultancy / building services is preferred.

Experience with AutoCAD and/or relevant engineering design software.

Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary project team.

Willing to attend site visits and travel when required.
