Job summary

ENER TECH SOLUTIONS SDN. BHD. in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Manager to lead MV/LV power distribution for semiconductor tool hook-up and industrial projects.

You will steer design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will manage a team of engineers and sub-contractors, coordinate with civil/mechanical disciplines, and drive projects on time and within budget while maintaining

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8–12+ years experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in MV and LV power distribution.
• Experience with large power cables and parallel cable installations.
• Experience with MV switchgear, transformers, MCCs and LV switchboards.
• Semiconductor, data centre, industrial or high-reliability facility experience preferred.
• Experience with 11kV and above is an advantage.
• AutoCAD and electrical design experience.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, and Bills of Quantities (BQ) to identify technical gaps, risks, and discrepancies, raising formal Technical Queries (TQ) to clients or consultants.
• Assist in drafting preliminary technical method statements, project execution plans, and risk assessments required for submission in the technical tender package.
• Manage electrical projects from initial design and budgeting through procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Develop comprehensive project timelines, milestones, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate seamlessly with civil contractors, mechanical engineers, architects, clients, and sub-contractors to ensure integration of electrical systems.
• Lead and mentor a team of project engineers, supervisors, and sub-contractors, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing transparent progress updates and resolving project bottlenecks promptly.
• Manage project budgets, monitor cash flow, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
• Identify, document, and negotiate variations or scope changes to ensure proper billing and contractual compliance.
• Design, review, approve, and verify electrical engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, schematic layouts, and technical specifications (e.g., MV/HV switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems).
• Knowledge to perform load, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit and protection calculations is mandatory
• Coordinate electrical connections from MV switchgear, transformers, LV switchboards, MCCs/PCCs to semiconductor tools.
• Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) to validate system functionality before final handover.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IEC standards and Malaysian electrical requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Manager to lead MV/LV power distribution and electrical installation works for semiconductor tool hook-up and industrial projects. The Electrical Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and closure of electrical engineering projects, as well as providing critical technical expertise during the pre-contract phase. This role ensures that all electrical systems are properly evaluated during tendering, and delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Strong site coordination and contractor management skills.
• Willing to travel to project sites in Malaysia.
• You will be base in Penang or Kulim.
