Teras Impiana Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands‑on Electrical Project Engineer to manage electrical installation and tool hook‑up works at a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Malaysia. You will plan, coordinate and supervise electrical activities to meet safety, quality and schedule targets.
Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, coordinating with clients and vendors, conducting testing and commissioning, and maintaining project documentation.
Teras Impiana Sdn Bhd is seeking a capable and hands‑on Electrical Project Engineer to manage electrical installation and tool hook‑up works at a semiconductor manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising electrical works, including cable containment, cable pulling, equipment power connections, testing and commissioning. The candidate must ensure that all activities are completed safely, according to approved drawings and specifications, and within the required project schedule.
Verify cable routes, cable sizes, termination points and equipment power requirements before work commences.
Ensure the correct materials, equipment and installation methods are used.
Coordinate shutdown, tie‑in and energisation activities with the relevant stakeholders.
Plan and coordinate electrical tool hook‑up activities from the source panel to production equipment.
Verify tool electrical requirements, load schedules, connection points and approved hook‑up drawings.
Coordinate with mechanical, process utility, controls, equipment and vendor teams.
Monitor installation readiness and ensure all prerequisites are completed before energisation.
Support equipment power‑on, functional testing and final handover.
Ensure all works comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Electricity Supply Act, Electricity Regulations, client EHS requirements and applicable codes and standards.
Prepare or review method statements, risk assessments, job safety analyses and permit‑to‑work documents.
Ensure proper implementation of lockout/tagout, electrical isolation and energisation procedures.
Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure workers use the required personal protective equipment.
Stop unsafe work and immediately report incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
Carry out inspections and ensure installations comply with approved drawings and specifications.
Raise requests for inspection and coordinate inspections with the client, consultant and QAQC team.
Manage site technical queries, requests for information and drawing discrepancies.
Ensure all cables and equipment are correctly tagged, labelled and documented.
Prepare testing records, cable test reports, insulation resistance results, continuity test reports and commissioning checklists.
Coordinate defect rectification and close punch‑list items.
Prepare red‑line drawings, as‑built drawings, operation and maintenance documents and final handover records.
Monitor daily productivity, manpower utilisation, material usage and subcontractor performance.
Prepare daily reports, weekly progress reports, progress photographs and work‑completion records.
Track planned versus actual progress and implement recovery measures when required.
Verify completed quantities and assist the commercial team with progress claims, variation orders and subcontractor claims.
Control material wastage, rework and unnecessary project costs.
