Job summary

HCE ENERGY SDN BHD is seeking a Pre-Sales Electrical Engineer (LV & MV Switchgear) to design technical proposals, size components, estimate costs, and prepare tender submissions for LV/MV switchgear and transformers.

You will create SLDs and wiring diagrams in AutoCAD, review drawings for manufacturability, engage with clients and engineers, and support handover to project teams for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years in pre-sales or technical engineering for LV/MV switchgeaers and distribution systems.
• Proficiency in reading/drafting electrical drawings with AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with Malaysia standards and tender documentation requirements.
• Hands-on LV/MV switchgear site/commissioning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical Solution & Sizing: design pre-sales proposals, size components, cost estimation, and bid support for LV/MV switchgears and transformers.
• Engineering Drawing: prepare and review SLDs, wiring schematics, layouts, and shop drawings for manufacturability.
• Tender & Technical Documentation: assemble full pre-sales packages, data sheets, compliance tables and tender submissions.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement: liaise with clients, consultants, design institutes, and contractors for clarifications and presentations.
• Project Handover & Inter-departmental Support: ensure smooth handover to execution with drawings clarifications.
• Site Support & Execution: oversee delivery, address site queries, and align with local installation standards.

We specialize in the schematic design, supporting supply and project delivery of electrical distribution equipment including medium and low-voltage switchgear, high and low-voltage complete sets of equipment, and box-type substations. Based in the local Malaysian market, we serve various industrial, infrastructure and power supporting projects across Southeast Asia.

Position: Pre-Sales Electrical Engineer (LV & MV Switchgear)

Salary: MYR 7,000 – MYR 10,000 / month (Commensurate with experience; Negotiable) + Annual Performance Bonus + Project Incentives

Job Responsibilities

Technical Solution & Sizing: Design pre-sales technical proposals, perform component selection/sizing, cost estimation, and proposal optimization for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgears, packaged substations, and transformers based on client requirements.

Engineering Drawing: Independently prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLD), primary and secondary wiring schematics, layout drawings, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with relevant standards and manufacturability.

Tender & Technical Documentation: Prepare full pre-sales technical packages, including technical proposals, technical data sheets, compliance tables, technical tender submissions, and BOQ/bidding supporting documents to assist the commercial team.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with clients, M&E consultants, design institutes, and contractors for technical clarification, proposal presentations, and requirement mapping to deliver customized engineering solutions.

Project Handover & Inter-departmental Support: Manage technical transition from pre-sales to execution, supporting the production and engineering teams with drawing clarifications to ensure seamless project execution.

Site Support & Execution: Oversee project delivery, address site technical queries, and utilize switchgear commissioning experience to align with local installation standards.

Requirements

Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of pre-sales or technical engineering experience in LV/MV switchgears and electrical power distribution systems.

Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and drafting primary/secondary electrical drawings using AutoCAD. Deep understanding of switchgear component selection, system design, and technical specifications.

Standards & Documentation: Familiar with power distribution technical standards; proven ability to independently prepare technical tenders and proposals.

Preferred Qualifications: Hands-on experience in LV/MV switchgear site commissioning, familiar with local Malaysia installation practices and utility guidelines (e.g., TNB / Suruhanjaya Tenaga standards) is a strong advantage.
