Job summary

SND HIGH TECH ENGINEERING SDN BHD in Malaysia seeks an Electrical Engineer to assist in end-to-end design of data center power supply and distribution systems across Southeast Asia, under guidance.

You will draft and verify utility incoming supply, transformer configurations, UPS, diesel generators, HVDC, and final distribution, and develop detailed drawings and interlocking logic for data center cabling, security, EPMS monitoring, and BA subsystems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Building Intelligence, Computer Science or related disciplines.
• 2–4 years of experience in building electrical or industrial power supply & distribution design, or 2–3 years in ELV/BA system design (data center experience is a plus).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in end-to-end design of power supply and distribution systems for data centers in Southeast Asia region under guidance.
• Complete drafting and calculation verification for utility incoming supply, transformer configuration, UPS systems, diesel generators, high-voltage DC (HVDC), and final distribution.
• Develop detailed drawing design and interlocking logic for data center structured cabling, security systems (CCTV/access control), environment and power (EPMS) monitoring, and building automation (BA) subsystems.
• Assist in power load calculations, short-circuit current analysis, and energy efficiency assessments.
• Liaise with local power utilities to ensure design schemes comply with local regulations and approval requirements.
• Participate in preparing bills of quantities (BoQ) and tender technical specifications for electrical and intelligent systems.
• Support procurement and cost control efforts.

Job description

Travel Requirement: Primarily stationed at project sites within Malaysia; must be available for short-term assignments and on-site support in Southeast Asian countries including Thailand and Indonesia.

Recruitment Scope: Open to local talent in Malaysia.

Language Requirement: Must be fully proficient in both Chinese and English across listening, speaking, reading, and writing, enabling seamless communication with the Chinese team, overseas clients, and local power utilities.Assist in the end-to-end design of power supply and distribution systems for data centers in the Southeast Asia region. Support procurement and cost control efforts

About you

Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Building Intelligence, Computer Science, or related disciplines. GE & PE preferred.

2–4 years of experience in building electrical or industrial power supply & distribution design, or 2–3 years in ELV/BA system design (data center experience is a plus)

Outstanding recent graduates (within the last 3 graduating cohorts) with a solid technical foundation and relevant internship experience are welcome

Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting

Experience with electrical simulation tools such as ETAP or EPLAN, or familiar with BMS/BA configuration software, preferred

Familiarity with IEC international standards or Malaysian local codes

Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) preferred (not required for recent graduates)

Salary & Benefits

Salary & Statutory Coverage: Competitive compensation in the Malaysian market (negotiable). The company makes full statutory contributions to EPF (Employees Provident Fund), SOCSO (Social Security), and EIS (Employment Insurance).

Generous Overseas Allowances: Accommodation is provided for all on-site assignments (domestic and overseas), with round-trip transportation fully reimbursed. For long-term overseas assignments (consecutively exceeding 2 weeks), an additional allowance of RMB 300/day (approx. RM 190+/day) is paid per calendar day, including weekends and public holidays. For short‑term assignments (consecutively not exceeding 2 weeks), an additional allowance of RMB 100/day per calendar day is paid, also including weekends and public holidays.

Family Visit Benefits: For employees on long‑cycle project assignments, approximately one week of paid family visit leave is arranged every 2–3 months, with round-trip airfare fully reimbursed.
