GEO STRATEGIC (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced 132kV Competent Electrical Engineer (CEE) as resident and/or visiting Electrical Engineer for a contract role in Kerteh, Terengganu. You will design, develop and maintain critical electrical systems, ensuring reliability, safety and efficiency across operations.

The ideal candidate holds a degree or master in Electrical Engineering (Power), BOE registration, and 15+ years in Oil & Gas/Refinery/Petrochemical/Utilities.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master in Electrical Engineering (Power) from a recognised institution.
• Professional Engineer registered under BEM.
• Energy Commission approval for 132kV (JK4) resident and 11kV (JK1) visiting roles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components per project specs and industry standards.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Identify faults, troubleshoot, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to deliver on time and within budget.

GEO STRATEGIC (M) SDN BHD is seeking an experienced 132kV Competent Electrical Engineer (CEE) as resident Competent Electrical Engineer (REE) and/or 11kV Competent Electrical Engineer (CEE) as visiting Competent Electrical Engineer.

to join our team on a contract basis in Kerteh, Terengganu. This is a pivotal role within our engineering division, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment that are critical to our operations. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure whilst contributing to the company's strategic objectives in the engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for electrical projects and installations
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using industry-standard software
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems
• Identify and resolve electrical faults, troubleshoot malfunctions, and implement corrective measures
• Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations, codes, and standards
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Perform regular maintenance and inspections of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff members as required

What we're looking for

• A Degree/Master in Electrical Engineering Power or a related discipline from a recognized institution
• Professional Engineer registered under Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM).
• A person approved by Malaysia Energy Commission that have minimum 132kV (JK4) for Resident Electrical Engineer and minimum 11kV (JK1) for Visiting Electrical Engineer.
• Minimum of 15 years' experience in in Oil & Gas/ Refinery/ Petrochemical Plants/ Utilities Energy. Experience working at PETRONAS facilities is an advantage
• Familiar as a leader /electrical leader for plant shutdown
• Must have strong experience in leadership and ability to control working site, switching activities, shutdown plants, equipment & system troubleshooting and emergency situation.
• Well verse experience in communication with GSO and compliance to Malaysian Grid Code.
• Willing to be located approximately within 1/2 (half) hour journey distant to working site/ plants.
• The competency certificate shall be registered at the respective installation plant under ECOS.
• Registered energy manager is an advantage
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Familiarity with industrial or petrochemical environments would be an advantage
