The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support initiatives that enhance the reliability, integrity, and availability of refinery electrical systems and installations. You will play a key role in supporting asset management strategies, reliability improvement programs, and engineering projects while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and HSSE standards.
We are looking for a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support initiatives that enhance the reliability, integrity, and availability of refinery electrical systems and installations. You will play a key role in supporting asset management strategies, reliability improvement programs, and engineering projects while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and HSSE standards.
Review and enhance maintenance strategies to optimize the reliability and integrity of electrical equipment through preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
Develop and maintain maintenance and inspection programs for electrical systems and support Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) initiatives.
Monitor electrical equipment performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and defect elimination studies to improve equipment reliability.
Participate in or lead Asset Reliability Teams (ART) and Multi-Discipline Reliability Teams (MDRT) to drive reliability improvements and support Major Turnaround (MTA) initiatives.
Supervise the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment in compliance with technical, safety, and statutory requirements.
Review electrical engineering drawings and provide technical recommendations for projects and modifications.
Support engineering projects, turnaround activities, and procurement processes, including technical evaluations.
Act as Contract Site Representative to monitor contractor performance and ensure contract deliverables are achieved.
Participate in the 24-hour on-call duty roster as scheduled.
Promote Electrical Safety Rules and a strong HSSE culture through coaching, knowledge sharing, and safety initiatives.
Bachelor's Degree (Honours) in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery industry.
Registered as a Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) and working towards obtaining Professional Engineer (PEng) status.
Strong knowledge of Electrical Safety requirements and Malaysian statutory regulations, including the Electricity Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994.
Experience or knowledge in hazardous area classification and the selection, installation, and maintenance of Ex (Explosion-Protected) equipment.
Familiar with international engineering codes and standards, including IEC, BS, IP, and DEP.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple priorities.
