Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from customer PO through tooling design, process trials, and final production handover. Take full technical ownership of manufacturing processes, validation, and engineering sign-off for production readiness.
Own First Article Validation—conduct hands-on inspection, advanced GD&T analysis, and engineering sign-off; make definitive technical calls on part acceptance
Interrogate customer 2D and 3D engineering data using advanced GD&T principles; identify manufacturability risks early and propose design improvements
Design and optimise manufacturing processes by building robust process flows, Control Plans, and FMEAs; understand every operation on the shop floor and engineer processes to prevent failures at source
Lead and execute Pilot Lot trials hands-on on the shop floor—set up, monitor, measure, and iterate based on real-time data
Own Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) end-to-end, ensuring all changes are technically sound and fully validated before implementation
Establish CMM inspection methods and define Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics from an engineering perspective
Act as the primary technical authority for engineering in cross-functional APQP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 discussions
Undertake any other relevant engineering development tasks or improvement assignments as directed
Advanced GD&T analysis capability
Hands-on experience with First Article validation and inspection
Experience designing and optimising manufacturing processes
Proficiency with CMM inspection methods
Knowledge of APQP, IATF 16949, and ISO 9001 standards
Ability to lead pilot lot trials and engineering changes on the shop floor
