Job summary

Tidy Group of Companies is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead the Engineering/R&D team and oversee new product development from concept through production launch.

The role focuses on managing product design, prototypes, testing, validation, and documentation while collaborating with Production, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain to improve manufacturability and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• Strong experience in product development, mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD including drawings.
• Able to communicate with China-based suppliers and read/translate Chinese tech docs to English.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering / R&D team.
• Lead and support new product development and NPI projects from concept to production launch.

• Lead or support tooling and mould development, including design review, trials, modifications, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with suppliers on component selection, tooling, mould development, and new projects.
• Provide technical support to customers and Sales on product applications and requirements.

Lead, mentor, and develop the Engineering / R&D team.

Lead and support new product development and NPI projects from concept to production launch.

Manage product design, prototypes/hand samples, testing, validation, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.

Lead existing product modification and improvement projects.

Provide technical solutions for product and manufacturing problems through structured problem-solving and root-cause analysis.

Analyse mechanical systems, components, assemblies, locks, keys, and related hardware products.

Work closely with Production and Quality to improve product quality, manufacturability, reliability, and manufacturing processes.

Lead or support tooling and mould development, including design review, trials, modifications, and technical problem-solving.

Work with suppliers on component selection, manufacturing requirements, tooling, mould development, and new projects.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Sales, Supply Chain, and Tool Room.

Provide technical support to customers and Sales on product applications, technical requirements, troubleshooting, and new projects.

Manage new product projects including scope, suppliers, implementation, commissioning, and validation.

Maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, technical documentation, and engineering change control.

Monitor project progress, quality, and continuous improvement activities.

Report project progress, technical issues, risks, and solutions to Management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

Strong experience in product development, mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related fields.

Proficient in SolidWorks 3D CAD, including part and assembly design and engineering drawings.

Able to communicate with China-based suppliers and read/translate technical documents from Chinese to English.
