Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of technology implementation or digital innovation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Emerging Technology Scouting across AI, IoT, automation, and digital health.
  • Lead and coordinate POC and pilot projects in KPJ hospitals.

Job description

Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing emerging healthcare technologies and digital innovation initiatives across KPJ hospitals.

The role supports the development and deployment of new technology solutions such as artificial intelligence applications, digital health platforms, IoT-enabled hospital technologies, automation tools, and other innovative solutions that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and hospital digital capabilities.

Working closely with hospital operations, clinical teams, IT teams, and technology partners, the position manages technology pilots, proof-of-concept projects, and innovation deployments, ensuring successful evaluation and potential scaling across the KPJ hospital network.

The role also supports the innovation pipeline for KPJ’s digital transformation roadmap, enabling the exploration of new technologies that strengthen KPJ’s position as a leading digital healthcare provider.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • 1. Emerging Technology Scouting – Identify and evaluate emerging healthcare technologies including AI, IoT, automation, digital health platforms, and smart hospital innovations.
  • 2. Innovation Pilot Management – Lead and coordinate proof-of-concept (POC) and pilot projects for new technologies within selected KPJ hospitals.
  • 3. Technology Evaluation & Feasibility – Assess technical feasibility, operational impact, and scalability of new technologies before wider deployment.
  • 4. Collaboration with Technology Partners – Engage with technology vendors, startups, research institutions, and innovation partners.
  • 5. Pilot Implementation & Testing – Coordinate pilot deployments including system configuration, testing, and operational assessment.
  • 6. Integration with Existing Systems – Ensure new technologies integrate effectively with existing hospital systems such as HIS and mobile applications.
  • 7. Innovation Programme Coordination – Support the execution of KPJ innovation initiatives and digital transformation programmes.
  • 8. Multi-Hospital Deployment Support – Assist in scaling successful technology pilots to multiple hospitals across KPJ.
  • 9. Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with clinical teams, hospital management, and IT teams to ensure alignment.
  • 10. Technology Research & Benchmarking – Conduct research on global digital health trends and benchmark innovations.
  • 11. Documentation & Knowledge Management – Maintain documentation of pilot results, evaluations, and project learnings.
  • 12. Project Monitoring & Reporting – Track innovation project progress and provide updates on outcomes and risks.
  • 13. Ad-hoc Innovation Initiatives – Support additional innovation projects and emerging technology explorations.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, Engineering, or related fields.

Knowledge and Experiences:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in technology implementation, digital innovation, or emerging technology development.
  • Experience working with AI solutions, digital health platforms, IoT systems, or healthcare technology innovations is an advantage.
  • Programming Literacy: A background in programming is preferred to effectively oversee and manage complex integration works; the candidate must be able to “speak the language” of developers, evaluate technical logic provided by vendors, and ensure code-level requirements align with seamless system interoperability.
  • Experience managing technology pilots or proof-of-concept projects.
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology ecosystems is advantageous.
  • Experience coordinating projects involving multiple stakeholders including clinicians, operations teams, and technology vendors.
  • Strong technology research and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and operational impact of new technologies.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate technology concepts into operational solutions for healthcare environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
