Job summary

Avensys Consulting Pte Ltd is hiring a Microsoft Defender XDR Support Engineer – L1/L2 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on a 12-month renewable contract. You will provide 24x7 security operations support for MDE, MDCA, Defender XDR and Purview, working with cross‑functional teams to protect client environments.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in IT/cybersecurity or CS and hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender products, Intune, policy troubleshooting, and incident management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, cybersecurity, or CS preferred.
• 5+ years in cybersecurity, security operations, or enterprise tech support.
• Hands-on with MDE, MDCA, and Purview.
• Experience with 24x7 rotational support and incident management.
• Certifications like SC-200, MD-102, AZ-500 are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 support and hypercare for Microsoft Defender products and Purview.
• Monitor, triage, and investigate security-related issues.
• Review logs and configuration evidence to identify issues.
• Coordinate with SOC, IT, Endpoint, Intune, Identity, Compliance, and Operations teams.
• Escalate complex issues to L3 or Microsoft Support.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates and status reports.
• Support go-live, hypercare, and post-production activities per runbooks.
• Communicate effectively with client stakeholders for timely resolution.
