Job summary

Power Metal Technologies in Malaysia seeks a procurement professional to develop cost-efficient strategies for purchasing materials and to ensure reliable supply for operations across the business.

You will maintain strong supplier relationships, source new vendors, negotiate terms, and collaborate with internal teams to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines while mitigating risks and ensuring favourable contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategic procurement and supplier management.
• Ability to negotiate contracts and terms.
• Understanding of cost analysis and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop cost-effective procurement strategies for purchasing materials required by the business
• Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and continuously source for new vendors
• Evaluate purchasing activities to improve cost efficiency, product quality, and delivery timelines
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth flow of goods and services for operations
• Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Develop and implement risk management procedures to mitigate supply disruptions or shortages
• Support or supervise procurement activities and coordinate with cross-functional teams when required
• Work closely with the legal or management team to ensure supplier contracts and terms are favourable
