Job summary

IJM Corporation Berhad is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveyor to lead pre- and post-contract activities, ensuring robust commercial governance across main contracts and subcontracts. You will drive subcontract procurement, tendering, negotiations and documentation, while managing progress claims, VO, EOT and final accounts.

The role requires strong negotiation and leadership, with proven capability in cost control, budgeting and stakeholder management, and willingness to be based at the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in QS, CM or equivalent required.
• Proven experience leading commercial and contractual functions for fast-track building projects desirable.
• Strong commercial and contractual management capability.
• Strong knowledge in cost control, budgeting, subcontract administration, claims, VO, EOT and final accounts.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Job description

Lead pre-contract and post-contract activities for effective commercial and contractual management.

Lead the administration of main contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with contractual and project requirements.

Lead the subcontract procurement, tender evaluation, negotiation, award recommendations and contract documentation.

Manage and review progress claims, interim payments, variation orders (VO), extension of time (EOT) and final accounts.

Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.

Monitor project costs, cash flow, commercial performance, risks and opportunities to achieve project profitability.

Provide contractual advice, manage claims and disputes and ensure proper documentation of contractual matters.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.

Preferably with a reputable main contractor with proven experience leading commercial and contractual functions for Fast Track building construction projects.

Strong in both Commercial and Contractual Management.

Strong knowledge in Cost control & Budgeting, Subcontract Administration, Claims, VO, EOT and Final Accounts.

Strong in negotiation, analytical and leadership skills.

Good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Willing to be based at the project site office.
