Job summary

TALIWORKS CORPORATION BERHAD is seeking a Contract Manager (Construction & Engineering) to support tender and project teams technically and administratively, providing professional opinions to guide deals and project execution.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering or related field, at least 10 years' experience in contract management, familiarity with local contract forms (especially JKR), and strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering, quantity surveying, construction, building or construction management.
• At least 10 years of relevant working experience in building/engineering contract management and administration.
• Familiar with local standard forms of contract, especially the JKR standard suite.
• Strong integrity, professionalism, and achievement-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership with ability to develop others and manage change.

Responsibilities

• Support tender and project teams technically and administratively.
• Review contract terms with the Client from a contractual perspective and advise on risk exposure.
• Review and advise on the suitability of the standard Letter of Award amid changes in law.
• Enhance staff knowledge of construction contracts and contract administration.
• Assist project teams in formulating sub-contract awards and supply chain strategies.
• Assist project teams in overcoming contractual disputes and maintaining relationships.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Contract Manager (Construction & Engineering)

The Contract Manager is responsible for supporting the tender and project teams technically and administratively in his areas of expertise.

Responsible for offering professional opinion and advice to support tender and project teams in his areas of expertise.

Responsible for reviewing the terms and conditions of the contract with the Client from a contractual perspective and advising on the Company's risk exposure.

Responsible for constantly reviewing the suitability of the Company's standard Letter of Award, given changes in law affecting the industry.

Responsible for enhancing the staff's knowledge of construction contracts and skill in contract administration.

Assist project teams in formulating the sub-contract award and supply chain strategies.

Assists project teams in overcoming any contractual disputes and avoiding a deterioration in the relationship between the parties.

Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Management.

Requirements:

Must possess at least a Bachelor's degree or diploma in a course related to engineering or quantity surveying or construction or building or construction management.

At least 10 years of relevant working experience in building/ engineering contract management and administration.

Familiar with local standard forms of contract, especially the JKR standard suite.

Strong integrity, professionalism, and concern for achievement.

Strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinker with the ability to influence, negotiate, and drive effective solutions.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders across all levels.
