We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join our organisation. This is a strategic position based in Puchong, Selangor, where you will oversee all aspects of contract management within our business operations. As Contract Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all contractual obligations are met, risks are mitigated, and projects remain on track financially and operationally. This role is essential to our business success, bridging the gap between our operational teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
What you'll be doing
Develop, draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure clarity, compliance, and mutual benefit
Monitor contract performance and compliance, ensuring all parties adhere to agreed terms and conditions
Manage contract variations, change orders, and amendments while maintaining accurate documentation and audit trails
Identify and assess contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests
Track contract timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure projects progress as planned
Maintain comprehensive contract registers and documentation systems for easy retrieval and reference
Liaise with project managers, site teams, and external parties to resolve contract-related issues and disputes
Ensure all contracts comply with relevant construction industry regulations, standards, and legal requirements
Prepare contract reports and performance metrics for management review and decision-making
Support tender processes by providing contract templates and guidance to project teams
What we're looking for
Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management within the construction or engineering sector
Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing construction contracts and commercial agreements
Strong knowledge of construction industry standards, terms, and best practices
Excellent understanding of contract law and compliance requirements in Malaysia
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and contract management software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and work under pressure
Experience with dispute resolution and claims management is advantageous
