Job summary

Jora Malaysia invites applications for a Contract Administrator role to manage construction contracts and related documents. The position involves handling tenders, procurement coordination, and ensuring compliance with PAM and CIDB guidelines within Malaysia's project context.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in quantity surveying or related field.
  • 2–5 years of contract administration experience in construction.
  • Familiar with PAM and FIDIC standard forms.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, tendering and cost control.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills; proficient in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer construction contracts and subcontracts.
  • Assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and awards; coordinate procurement.
  • Evaluate variation orders and monitor project costs against budget.
  • Assess contractor claims and support dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contract Management: Prepare, review, and administer construction contracts, subcontracts, and agreements; ensure all contract documents comply with company policies and legal requirements; monitor contract performance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Tender & Procurement: Assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and award process; review tender documents, BOQ, and specifications; coordinate with procurement team for contractor and supplier appointments.
  • Cost & Variation Management: Evaluate variation orders (VO) and claims from contractors; monitor project costs against budget; prepare cost reports and recommendations.
  • Claims & Dispute Handling: Assess contractor claims (EOT, loss & expense, etc.); support negotiation and resolution of contractual disputes; maintain proper documentation for claims and disputes.
  • Maintain proper contract records, correspondences, and project documentation; prepare progress reports, contract status reports, and financial updates; ensure timely issuance of notices, certificates, and approvals.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Identify contractual risks and propose mitigation strategies; ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and contract conditions (e.g., PAM, CIDB guidelines); monitor insurance, bonds, and warranties.
  • Liaison & Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for contract-related matters; coordinate with project managers, consultants, clients, and contractors; attend project meetings when required.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2–5 years experience in contract administration within construction industry
  • Familiar with standard forms of contract (e.g., PAM, FIDIC)
  • Strong knowledge in contract law, tendering, and cost control
  • Good negotiation and communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in high-rise / commercial / infrastructure projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and good documentation practice
