Job summary

Exentec Services Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (MEP) to support the execution of a Tool Installation project for a design-and-built semiconductor manufacturing plant.

The Construction Supervisor (MEP) will be responsible for supervising and coordinating MEP construction and tool-installation activities at site, ensuring works are executed safely, according to approved drawings and specifications, within schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/MEP Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of site/MEP supervision experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor/high-tech projects preferred.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary activities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day MEP construction and tool-installation activities at site.
  • Coordinate installation works for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and utilities supporting semiconductor tools.
  • Ensure activities follow approved drawings, specs, statements, ITPs and project requirements.
  • Maintain site records, progress tracking and daily reports; support handover documentation.

The role requires strong site supervision, subcontractor coordination, MEP technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a highly controlled semiconductor / high-technology manufacturing environment.

Position Summary

Exentec Services Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (MEP) to support the execution of a Tool Installation project for a design-and-built semiconductor manufacturing plant.

The Construction Supervisor (MEP) will be responsible for supervising and coordinating MEP construction and tool-installation activities at site, ensuring works are executed safely, according to approved drawings and specifications, within schedule, and to the required quality standards.

The role requires strong site supervision, subcontractor coordination, MEP technical knowledge, and the ability to work effectively in a highly controlled semiconductor / high-technology manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Construction & Site Supervision
  • Supervise day-to-day MEP construction and tool-installation activities at site.
  • Coordinate installation works for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and associated utility systems supporting semiconductor manufacturing tools.
  • Ensure construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs and project requirements.
  • Monitor manpower, equipment, materials and productivity at site.
  • Coordinate work sequences to minimize clashes and interface issues between MEP, process utilities, architectural, structural and tool-installation activities.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and monitor work progress against the approved construction schedule.
  • Identify site constraints, technical issues and potential delays, and elevate them to the Construction Manager / Project Manager.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, client representatives and other project disciplines.
2. MEP & Tool Installation Coordination
  • Supervise installation and connection activities associated with semiconductor manufacturing tools and their supporting MEP/process utility systems.
  • Coordinate interfaces between facility MEP systems and tool connection points.
  • Review and verify installation against approved shop drawings, construction drawings and equipment layout drawings.
  • Ensure proper installation of relevant services such as:
    • HVAC and ventilation systems
    • Chilled water / cooling water systems
    • Electrical power distribution
    • Earthing and bonding
    • Domestic and process water
    • Drainage systems
    • Compressed air
    • Process gases and associated support systems
    • Vacuum systems
    • Exhaust systems
    • Fire protection systems
    • Other semiconductor facility utilities as applicable
  • Support equipment/tool setting, positioning, alignment and connection activities where required.
  • Coordinate MEP service routing and ensure adequate access, clearance, maintainability and installation quality.
3. Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate daily site records and construction reports.
  • Track drawings, RFIs, site instructions, inspection requests and other construction documentation.
  • Support preparation of as-built information and handover documentation.
  • Record site issues, progress, manpower and material status.
  • Ensure completed works are properly documented for client acceptance and project close-out.

Requirements
Education
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, MEP Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Experience
  • Minimum 2–5 years of relevant construction / MEP supervision experience.
  • Experience in semiconductor, data centre, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, high-tech manufacturing or other complex industrial projects will be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with MEP installation, facility utilities and equipment/tool installation interfaces is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising subcontractors and coordinating multidisciplinary construction activities.
Technical Skills
  • Good understanding of MEP construction methods, installation practices and testing/commissioning.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, layouts, schematics and specifications.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing, inspection requirements and quality control.
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems, RAMS, JSA/JHA and construction safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor facility utilities and cleanroom environments is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD / BIM drawings and common construction documentation is preferred.

  • Able to manage multiple subcontractors and activities simultaneously.
