Job summary

Pico Hub Services Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands‑on Project Engineer (M&E) for interior fit‑out and experiential projects. This site‑based role requires coordinating, supervising, installing, testing, commissioning, and handing over M&E works.

The candidate should have a technical background and be comfortable resolving issues on site, coordinating multiple trades, and driving project delivery under tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in M&E site engineering or project execution for commercial fit-out or building projects.
• Experience coordinating Electrical and ELV systems.
• Good understanding of M&E services, power distribution, structured cabling and lighting systems.
• Analyze and interpret M&E drawings, shop drawings, single-line diagrams and coordination drawings.
• Familiar with testing and commissioning processes.
• Good knowledge of Malaysian construction practices, authority requirements and safety regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Based on project site(s) coordinating and supervising daily M&E installation works.
• Coordinate site activities with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Attend site coordination meetings and resolve technical or site issues promptly.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of M&E systems with consultants and vendors.
• Prepare testing records, commissioning reports and as-built documentation.

Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Project Engineer (M&E) to support the execution of interior fit-out and experiential projects.

This is a site-based role requiring active involvement in the coordination, supervision, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works.

The successful candidate will work closely with Interior Fit-out, Architecture, AV, Multimedia, Lighting, IT, and specialist contractors to ensure all M&E systems are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate is technically competent, proactive, and enjoys working on-site to resolve technical issues, coordinate multiple trades, and drive project delivery.

Roles & Responsibilities

Site Coordination

• Be primarily based on project site(s) to coordinate and supervise daily M&E installation works.

• Monitor subcontractors' work to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedule.

• Coordinate site activities with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams.

• Attend daily site coordination meetings and resolve technical or site-related issues promptly.

• Verify work progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to minimise delays.

Technical Coordination

• Review M&E shop drawings, construction drawings and coordination drawings before site execution.

• Coordinate power supply, containment, structured cabling and equipment requirements for:

  • LED display systems

  • Interactive kiosks

  • Touchscreens

  • Projection systems

  • Audio systems

  • Lighting control systems

  • Multimedia equipment

• Ensure proper coordination between M&E services and architectural finishes to minimise clashes during installation.

• Attend coordination meetings and provide technical input where required.

Testing & Commissioning

• Coordinate testing and commissioning of M&E systems together with consultants, subcontractors and specialist vendors.

• Assist in integrated testing with AV, Multimedia and IT teams before project handover.

• Coordinate defect rectification and ensure all outstanding issues are closed before Practical Completion.

• Prepare and compile testing reports, commissioning records and as-built documentation.

Project Execution

• Monitor site progress and update the Project Manager on daily activities, issues and potential delays.

• Coordinate material delivery and ensure materials are available before installation.

• Assist in planning work sequences to minimise delays and site clashes.

• Support site inspections with consultants and clients.

Quality & Safety

• Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved materials and quality standards.

• Coordinate with the QA/QC and Safety teams to ensure works comply with project quality and safety requirements.

• Ensure subcontractors follow approved Method Statements and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).

• Support defect inspections, snagging and final project handover.
