Job summary

Exentec Services Malaysia is seeking an experienced MEP Supervisor to lead and coordinate MEP works for semiconductor tool installation projects on site. Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, MEP Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Relevant safety certifications (OSHA/NIOSH, Working at Height, LOTO, Confined Space) preferred.
  • Candidates with hands-on MEP/tool hook-up experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Role Overview

Exentec Services Malaysia is seeking an experiencedMEP Supervisorto support and supervise MEP works associated withsemiconductor equipment/tool installation projects.


The MEP Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and execution of MEP installation activities associated with semiconductor tools and equipment. The role requires strong site-based experience in coordinating multiple trades and ensuring works are completed safely, correctly, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, and client requirements.


The successful candidate should be comfortable working insemiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing facilities, or other highly controlled environments, with a strong understanding of the requirements associated with tool installation and utility hook-up.



Key Responsibilities

MEP Installation Supervision


  • Supervise day-to-day MEP installation activities for semiconductor tool installation projects.

  • Coordinate installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process utility, and associated building services works.

  • Supervise utility hook-up works from facility distribution points to semiconductor tools/equipment.

  • Ensure installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and client standards.

  • Coordinate installation activities across multiple MEP trades to prevent clashes and delays.

  • Monitor manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and work fronts to ensure efficient site execution.

  • Conduct daily site inspections and monitor workmanship and installation quality.

  • Ensure work areas are properly prepared and ready for subsequent installation activities.

  • Coordinate equipment/tool installation interfaces with mechanical, electrical, process, facilities, and equipment teams.


Semiconductor Tool Installation


  • Support installation and utility connection activities for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

  • Coordinate requirements forprocess gases, CDA, vacuum, UPW, PCW, exhaust, HVAC, electrical power, drainage, and other facility utilities, as applicable to the project.

  • Verify utility connection points, routing, elevations, access requirements, and installation interfaces.

  • Coordinate with equipment vendors and tool installation teams to ensure utility requirements are met.

  • Support tool move-in, setting, alignment, hook-up, testing, and handover activities.

  • Ensure tool installation works do not compromise cleanroom conditions or facility operations.

  • Coordinate shutdowns, tie-ins, isolation, and reinstatement activities in accordance with approved procedures.


Site Coordination


  • Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, MEP Engineers, Construction Managers, client representatives, equipment vendors, subcontractors, and other trades.

  • Attend daily coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, and project progress meetings.

  • Identify site constraints, clashes, access issues, and installation conflicts and elevate them promptly.

  • Coordinate work sequencing to meet project milestones and tool installation schedules.

  • Liaise with client facilities teams to coordinate access, permits, isolations, shutdowns, and utility connections.

  • Coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure resources are appropriately deployed.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.


Quality Control


  • Ensure all MEP installation works comply with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.

  • Conduct inspections and ensure installations are completed to the required quality standard.

  • Coordinate inspection and testing activities with QA/QC personnel.

  • Identify defective or non-conforming work and ensure timely rectification.

  • Support preparation and closure of inspection records, punch lists, NCRs, and other quality documentation.

  • Ensure proper installation records and as-built information are maintained.

  • Support testing, commissioning, and system handover activities.



Education and Experience


  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree inMechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MEP Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • Relevant technical certification inHVAC, electrical systems, mechanical services, or building servicesis an advantage.

  • Relevantsafety certifications/training such as OSHA/NIOSH, Working at Height, LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, or other project-required certifications are preferred.

  • Candidates with atechnical diploma and strong hands-on MEP/tool hook-up experiencemay be considered in lieu of a degree.


The MEP Supervisor should have good practical knowledge of:



  • MEP installation and construction practices, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building services.

  • Semiconductor facility and cleanroom environments, including the requirements and constraints associated with tool installation.

  • Tool hook-up and facility utility connections, including coordination between process equipment and building/facility systems.

  • Electrical systems, including LV/MV distribution, panels, cable trays, grounding/earthing, equipment power, and tool connections.

  • Mechanical utility systems, including chilled water, cooling water, compressed air, HVAC, ventilation, and exhaust.

  • Process utility systems, including CDA, PCW, UPW, vacuum, process exhaust, and process gases, where applicable to the project.
