Job summary

DK-MY Properties seeks a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead on-site construction activities for our developments in Subang Jaya. You will oversee daily site operations, manage progress against the master programme, and ensure quality, safety and cost control.

The role requires 8–10 years in construction or property development, strong leadership to coordinate consultants, contractors and internal teams, and the ability to deliver projects from start to handover in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in civil/related field.
  • 8–10 years in construction or property development, with project leadership experience.
  • Experience managing building projects from start to handover.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, planning, site coordination, quality and safety.
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, contracts, and project docs.
  • Proven leadership to manage contractors, consultants and site teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage overall construction activities at the project site to meet timeline, budget, quality and safety requirements.
  • Plan, coordinate and monitor daily site operations, progress, manpower, materials and subcontractors.
  • Develop and monitor the master programme, construction schedule and milestones.
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, contractors, suppliers and authorities.
  • Conduct site and progress meetings; address outstanding matters and actions.
  • Monitor performance, workmanship, productivity and compliance with drawings and contracts.
  • Review drawings, method statements and submissions; ensure compliance.
  • Identify delays and risks; implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure works comply with drawings, specs, standards and safety.
  • Monitor costs, variations and claims in coordination with internal teams.
  • Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical works on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality; rectify defects.
  • Promote safety culture; liaise with authorities for inspections and approvals.
  • Prepare progress reports and project handovers; maintain records.
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections and defect rectification.

Job description

Lead and manage the overall construction activities at the project site to ensure the project is completed within the approved timeline, budget, quality standards and safety requirements.

Plan, coordinate and monitor daily site operations, construction progress, manpower, materials, machinery and subcontractor activities.

Develop and monitor the project master programme, construction schedule and key project milestones.

Coordinate closely with consultants, architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities to ensure smooth project implementation.

Conduct regular site meetings and progress meetings, and follow up on outstanding matters, technical issues and action items.

Monitor contractors' and subcontractors' performance, workmanship, productivity and compliance with approved drawings, specifications and contractual requirements.

Review construction drawings, method statements, technical submissions, material submissions and other project-related documents.

Identify potential delays, construction issues and project risks, and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved construction drawings, specifications, statutory requirements and company standards.

Monitor project costs, variation works, claims and other commercial matters together with the relevant internal departments and consultants.

Ensure proper coordination between architectural, structural, civil, mechanical and electrical works at site.

Carry out regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained and defects are promptly rectified.

Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements and promote a strong safety culture at the construction site.

Liaise with local authorities and relevant agencies on site-related inspections, approvals and compliance matters where required.

Prepare and submit regular project progress reports, site updates, construction status and key issues to Management.

Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, defect rectification and project handover upon completion.

Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Perform any other project-related duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in construction or property development, with several years in a project management or site leadership capacity.
  • Experience managing building construction projects from commencement through completion and handover.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, project planning, site coordination, quality control and safety requirements.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts and project documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage contractors, subcontractors, consultants and site teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and coordination skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced site environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Candidates with experience in high-rise residential, commercial or mixed-development projects will have an added advantage.
  • Must be willing to be based full-time at the construction site.
