Job summary

ZhongXiang Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support sourcing, purchasing, and coordination of materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects in Malaysia.

You will prepare and issue purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, compare quotations, maintain records, and work closely with project teams to ensure timely supply. Candidates with at least 1 year in construction purchasing and good MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in the construction or purchasing field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating materials, tools, and equipment for construction projects.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) and follow up with suppliers for delivery schedules.
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure best pricing and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, suppliers, and delivery status.
• Work closely with project teams, site personnel, and suppliers to ensure timely material supply.
• Perform other duties assigned by the superior or management.
