We are looking for a Material Coordinator to support our commercial construction project, specifically for a hotel development. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating material requirements, deliveries, storage and inventory to ensure materials are available at site according to project requirements and schedule.
Coordinate and monitor material requirements, procurement, delivery and availability for the construction project.
Prepare and maintain material tracking schedules to monitor material status from ordering through delivery to site.
Coordinate with Project Engineers, Site Supervisors, Procurement, Quantity Surveyors and subcontractors to identify material requirements and delivery schedules.
Liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding material orders, availability, delivery dates and lead times.
Monitor material deliveries to ensure materials received are in accordance with approved specifications, quantities and delivery orders.
Check and maintain records of Delivery Orders (DO), invoices, purchase orders and material documentation.
Coordinate the proper receiving, inspection, identification and storage of materials at the project site.
Monitor site inventory and ensure sufficient materials are available to support ongoing construction activities.
Maintain accurate records of material stock, usage, outstanding orders and pending deliveries.
Follow up with suppliers on delayed or outstanding materials and highlight potential shortages that may affect the project schedule.
Coordinate with the site team regarding material allocation and distribution to the required work areas.
Ensure materials are properly stored and protected from damage, loss or deterioration.
Assist in monitoring material wastage and usage and report any discrepancies to the relevant project team.
Coordinate the return, replacement or rectification of damaged, defective or incorrect materials with suppliers.
Assist the project team in maintaining proper material documentation and records for project and handover purposes.
Perform other duties related to material coordination as assigned by the superior.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in material coordination, construction, procurement or site operations.
Experience in commercial building, hotel, high-rise or similar construction projects will be an advantage.
Good understanding of construction materials, site activities and material delivery processes.
Familiar with Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), invoices and material tracking documentation.
Good coordination and communication skills with suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.
Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to monitor multiple material requirements simultaneously.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with material tracking or project management systems is an advantage.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with different departments.
Willing to work at the project site.
