Job summary

Kanry Search in Malaysia seeks an Assistant Purchasing Manager for construction projects. You will support procurement operations, review requisitions, coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely material availability.

You will mentor junior procurement staff, monitor lead times, negotiate pricing, and manage documentation including POs, DOs, and invoices to achieve best value for projects.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering or related field.
• 5-7 years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in construction or project-based industries.

Responsibilities

• Review purchase requisitions and coordinate procurement activities with internal departments.
• Verify purchasing requirements with Contract Department and align with project needs.
• Coordinate with suppliers on delivery planning and follow up on outstanding orders.
• Monitor PO/DO/RO flows and invoices.
• Liaise with site teams to provide delivery updates and resolve procurement issues.
• Support quotation sourcing and cost evaluation for project tendering.
• Review supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and ensure best value.
• Coach and guide junior procurement team members.
• Monitor inventories, lead times and supplier performance.
