Job summary

Main Contractor in Johor, Malaysia is seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Site-Based) to oversee on-site operations for data centre projects. The role requires hands-on leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years of construction experience with at least 5 years in a managerial role, plus demonstrable success managing main contractor projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 10–15 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience with main contractors on large-scale projects (industrial buildings, data centres, commercial developments).
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and site management practices.
• Familiar with local authority requirements and regulations in Malaysia.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to be site-based in Johor.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through to completion.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
• Monitor construction progress and prepare regular site reports.
• Manage subcontractors’ performance, productivity, and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
• Identify and resolve site issues, risks, and delays in a timely manner.
• Work closely with Planning and Project teams to track progress against the master programme.
• Ensure quality control procedures are implemented and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Attend site meetings and represent the company in coordination discussions.
