Job summary

Blu Restaurant Sdn Bhd is seeking a Commis Chef to support busy kitchen operations in Penang. The role covers vegetable, pastry and meat item preparation and assists senior chefs in hot and cold sections.

You will perform daily preps, maintain hygiene, and ensure ingredients are ready before service while following the head chef's directions and kitchen roster.

Qualifications

• Experience as Commis Chef or similar role.
• Demonstrates attention to detail and hygiene.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong communication with team and head chef.
• Good organizational skills and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetables, pastry and meat items.
• Assist Chef de Partie and Demi Chef in production of main courses, desserts and pastries.
• Perform daily food preparation and maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
• Open and close kitchen following the roster and schedule.
• Ensure all ingredients are ready before service; follow daily assignments.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with daily market orders.
• Follow section duties and adapt to different kitchen positions.

Job description

• Worked in all section, preparation of food vegetable, pastry & meat item.
• Assist chef de partie & demi chef do production main course hot item, dessert pastry & cold kitchen area.
• Daily do production, cutting preparations food and cleanliness & hygiene.
• Responsible do opening & closing follow schedule roster duty
• Make sure all ingredient or item ready before business operation start. Follow assignment daily given by head chef.
• Check balance stock or ingredients and fill up market list form for daily market order.
• Follow assignment given by each section, will be assign position in kitchen.
• Ability to handle work well under pressure and patience.
