Job summary

PENANG AUTOMATION CLUSTER SDN BHD is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join its metal fabrication team in Penang. You will develop programs, set up CNC machines, and ensure parts meet design specifications with CAD/CAM tools.

You should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s in mechanical/manufacturing engineering and at least 3 years of CNC programming experience in manufacturing. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in machining operations.

Responsibilities

• Analyze engineering drawings and determine manufacturing requirements.
• Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for fabrication processes.
• Use CAD software to develop 2D and 3D models of sheet metal components.
• Assist in maintaining and calibrating CNC machines for optimal performance and accuracy.
• Document and maintain program changes, process parameters, and production records for traceability and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.

To be responsible and ensure the program is created correctly within the time specified.

To perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications.

To consider correct tools as required to cut the particular materials and to program the machines accordingly.

To troubleshoot and resolve problems as and when program errors happen.

To optimize programs and reduce wastage of material.

To follow up closely and execute all improvement/ cost saving projects.

To support and work towards reducing machine down time.

To ensure accuracy and timely readiness of goods produced under his responsibility.

To responsible for personal safety and ensure safe conduct as not to risk others or company properties.

To maintain the consistency in applying company policies, procedures and shop floor rules.

To be an active leader in continuous improvements in metal fabrication operations.

Job Requirements :
