Job summary

Penang Automation Cluster Sdn. Bhd. seeks a skilled machinist/technician to operate manual and CNC machines, load materials, and monitor production to achieve quality parts.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities. Daily maintenance and housekeeping are expected at the workstation in Penang, Malaysia.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist or technician in manufacturing.
• Knowledge in CNC machining, EDM, Wire Cut, Grinding or Milling is an added advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and semi-automatic machines such as milling and grinding.
• Set up machines to complete full cycles to fabricate parts.
• Load raw materials onto machines and monitor during production.
• Inspect finished parts and measure against specifications using inspection tools.
• Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping of workstations.
• Highlight suspected defects to Supervisor and carry out other duties as assigned.

Job description

To prepare and operate manual & semi-auto machines e.g. milling & grinding machines and CNC machines e.g. CNC multi-axis, Wire Cut & EDM machines.To set up machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.

To perform manual tapping and buffing of parts if required.

To understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading work instruction, engineering drawings etc.

To prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.

To monitor the machines while works in progress and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.

To inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements using proper inspection tools to determine if the process has been completed properly.

To check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.

To maintain proper housekeeping at all times in workstations.

To carry out inspection and packing of products assigned by Supervisor.

To highlight to Supervisor when suspected defective parts are being produced.

To perform any other duties assigned by supervisor or manager from time to time.

Minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist or technician, preferably in a similar manufacturing environment

Possess some knowledge in CNC machining, EDM, Wire Cut, Grinding or Milling are added advantage

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
