Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a CAM Programmer to develop, edit, and document CAM programs for high-precision 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines in Bayan Lepas, Penang.

You will schedule CAM files, interpret blueprints, and adjust machine settings to meet First Article Inspection specifications. The role requires a CAM-related education and strong EdgeCAM knowledge, plus the ability to troubleshoot and maintain meticulous documentation for the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, revise and document CAM programs for high-precision CNC milling.
• Schedule and prepare CAM files for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling.
• Read designs, program CNC machines, and adjust settings to meet specs during FAI.
• Improve CNC programs after FAI and maintain shop floor documentation.
• Support manufacturing in troubleshooting during production.

Job description

Responsible in developing, editing, revising and documenting manufacturing methods and CNC programs from various engineering media for high precision 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.

Perform the scheduling and preparation of all CAM files for manufacturing of all products on high precision 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines.

Responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine and adjusting the machine settings to produce components that meet the specifications during the First Article Inspection (FAI).

To carry out continuous improvement on CNC programs after First Article Inspection is successfully carried out and approved by customers.

To ensure all shop floor documents are updated accurately for machinist to carry out their jobs.

To support Manufacturing Department in troubleshooting issues during manufacturing process and improve CNC programs when needed.

Job Requirement

Professional Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in CAM Programming, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or equivalent; or 1 to 2 years of related working experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Good knowledge in CNC programming using EdgeCAM

Good in setting up 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machine.

Good in troubleshooting skills.

Good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Strong attention to detail.
