Job summary

OCBC Bank Malaysia is seeking a Cloud Middleware Support Engineer to join our OpenShift/Kubernetes and cloud services team. You will support OCBC’s application workloads and cloud-native services, helping stakeholders maximize value from the platform.

Role involves day‑to‑day operations across OpenShift, Kafka and Redis, incident management, capacity planning, security best practices, and providing guidance to development and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience supporting both on-premise and/or cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of client-server, 3-tier architecture web applications & distributed systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in operating systems (Linux), networking connectivity, storage disks, etc.
• System administration experience with troubleshooting OS, application logs and addressing system-level issues.
• A good team player and able to work effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues to closure.
• Exposure to Terraform, GitOps & CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Day to day operations in technologies like OpenShift/k8s, Redis & Kafka.
• Provide technical support on full stack of OCBC Cloud Middleware services (e.g., application messaging, incident management, observability & recovery of services).
• Apply problem solving to identify root cause and recover from issues.
• Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.
• Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with security policies.
• Provide guidance to development and operations teams.
