Job summary

KPJ Selangor Specialist Hospital is seeking a clinic receptionist to greet and register patients, prepare notes before consultations, and coordinate admissions and investigations. Responsibilities include handling lab/x-ray requests, managing patient flow at the lobby, and supporting budget, staffing, and compliance efforts to uphold hospital

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM qualification.
• Minimum 5 years experience in servicing environments, preferably healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Personable, responsible, mature and well presented.
• Highly motivated with commitment to quality improvement.
• Excellent team player, coordinator and facilitator.
• Able to portray a high-quality image of the hospital to patients/visitors.

Responsibilities

• Receive and register patients at the clinic counter.
• Prepare case notes and prescriptions before consultation.
• Take patient vital signs, weight and height.
• send patients for admission or lab/x-ray investigations.
• Prepare lab/x-ray request forms as needed.
• Record lab/x-ray results to doctors and file notes.
• Arrange bed booking for admissions.
• Manage card applications, renewals and data accuracy.
• Ensure smooth traffic at main entrance; assist guests with directions and service.
• Participate in budget and manpower planning; monitor staff productivity and costs.
• Comply with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, 5S, Planetree, JCI/Hospital Accreditation where applicable.
• Ensure staff are competent to perform duties.
• Monitor overtime and prevent abuse.
• Maintain conducive department layout and updated information on facilities and services.
• Take corrective actions for non-conformances and audits.
• Support patients' and families' rights and compliance at engagements.
• Adhere to Standard People Practice (SPP).
• Assist General Manager with other duties as needed.
• Reception duties at clinic counter and greeting patients.
• Maintain courtesy and professionalism in customer service.
• Answer phone calls and relay messages.
