Job summary

Orthopaedic Specialist Centre in Malaysia is seeking a caring Clinic Assistant to support the OPD, assist doctors during consultations, perform basic patient assessments, and help ensure a safe and smooth patient experience throughout visits. You will prepare the clinic, review appointments, record vital signs, update HIS, coordinate tests and referrals, and help with pre-operative arrangements.

Teamwork and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent educational qualification.
• Experience in clinic, hospital or healthcare is an advantage.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the clinic and review scheduled patient appointments.
• Take and record vital signs; perform basic patient assessments.
• Assist doctors during consultations, examinations and procedures.
• Update patient information and maintain records in HIS.
• Coordinate laboratory tests, diagnostics, referrals and follow-ups.
• Assist with pre-operative arrangements and patient education.
• Ensure handling of instruments, supplies, equipment and stock.
• Maintain infection control and SOP compliance.
• Collaborate with Customer Care and other departments to coordinate care.

Job description

We are looking for a caring and responsible Clinic Assistant to support the daily operations of our Outpatient Department (OPD). The role involves assisting doctors and specialists during consultations and procedures, performing basic patient assessments, coordinating patient care, and ensuring a smooth and safe experience for patients throughout their clinic visits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the clinic and review scheduled patient appointments prior to each session.


• Perform basic patient assessments, including taking and recording vital signs.


• Assist doctors and specialists during consultations, examinations, and procedures.


• Update patient information and maintain accurate records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).


• Coordinate laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, referrals, and follow-up appointments.


• Assist with pre-operative arrangements and patient education for patients scheduled for surgery.


• Ensure proper handling of instruments, medical supplies, equipment, and clinic stock.


• Maintain patient safety, infection control practices, and compliance with hospital SOPs.


• Work closely with Customer Care and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of patient care.

Requirements:

• Minimum SPM or equivalent.


• Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, or healthcare setting is an advantage.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills.


• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain accurate patient information.
