Qualifications

About the role

Allen Sim Urology is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Assistant to join our medical team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our clinical operations and ensuring patients receive exceptional care. As a Clinic Assistant, you will be the backbone of our clinic's day-to-day operations, working directly with medical specialists and patients to maintain a smooth, efficient and welcoming healthcare environment. This position is instrumental in enhancing patient experience and supporting the delivery of high-quality surgical and medical services.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients upon arrival and managing the check-in process, including verifying patient information and insurance details
• Assisting with patient registration and maintaining accurate and confidential patient records
• Scheduling patient appointments and managing the clinic calendar to optimise appointment flow
• Preparing examination rooms and ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are sterile and ready for use
• Assisting medical specialists during patient consultations and minor procedures as required
• Providing basic administrative support including answering telephone calls, responding to enquiries and managing correspondence
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the clinic environment in accordance with infection control standards
• Performing inventory management and restocking medical supplies and equipment
• Supporting the coordination of patient referrals and follow-up appointments

What we're looking for

• Completed secondary education as a minimum; additional qualifications in healthcare or medical administration are advantageous
• Previous experience working in a clinical, healthcare or medical environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families and healthcare professionals; ability to converse in English, Malay and Mandarin.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinic setting
• Proficiency with computer systems and medical practice management software
• A caring, patient-centred approach with genuine compassion for patients' wellbeing
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy regulations
• Physical capability to stand for extended periods and perform light manual tasks
• A professional demeanour and willingness to work as part of a collaborative team
• Certification in First Aid or Basic Life Support is preferred
