Minconsult Sdn Bhd in Petaling Jaya seeks a Civil & Structural Engineer with 5–9 years in design consultancy to plan, analyse, design and coordinate civil and structural works for buildings and infrastructure, delivering calculations, drawings and specifications on schedule.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and authorities, ensuring MS EN/Eurocode compliance. Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 and MIDAS is essential, plus strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with First Class Honours preferred.
• 5–9 years of civil and structural design consultancy experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design for RC and steel.
• Proficiency in STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000 and MIDAS.
• Familiarity with MS EN, Eurocodes and related standards.

Job description

This is a full-time role for a Civil & Structural Engineer based in Petaling Jaya. The Civil & Structural Engineer will be responsible for planning, analysing, designing, and coordinating civil and structural engineering works for various infrastructure and building projects. Key duties include structural analysis and design, preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, technical reports, and specifications. The role requires close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant engineering standards, project requirements, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake civil and structural engineering design works for buildings, bridges, infrastructure, and other engineering projects.

Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, foundations, retaining structures, and other structural components.

Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and other relevant project documentation.

Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable codes, standards, statutory requirements, and project specifications.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and relevant authorities to ensure effective project implementation.

Review engineering drawings, design submissions, and technical documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.

Assist in the preparation of technical proposals, tender submissions, and cost estimates, where required.

Attend project meetings, site visits, and technical discussions as necessary.

Provide technical support and resolve civil and structural engineering issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Demonstrate leadership qualities and perform assigned duties independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements and Qualifications

Recognised degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with First Class Honours.

Minimum 5–9 years of relevant civil and structural engineering experience, particularly in design consultancy.

Strong knowledge and experience in structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures, foundations, bridges, and other civil engineering works.

Proficiency in relevant structural engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, MIDAS, or equivalent.

Experience in foundation design, including pile foundations, pile caps, piled-raft foundations, and retaining structures, will be an advantage.

Familiarity with relevant Malaysian and international design codes and standards, including MS EN, Eurocodes, and other applicable standards.

Good understanding of structural detailing, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction methods.

Excellent command of English, both spoken and written, with good technical writing and communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and meet demanding project schedules.

Good interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
