Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
• 1–3 years post-graduation experience in civil and structural design.
• Familiar with Building Codes and Malaysia regulations.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of BIM is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for projects.
• Develop detailed structural designs and drawings with industry tools.
• Prepare engineering reports and calculations for proposals.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulators for compliance.
• Provide on-site engineering support during construction.

About the role

PERUNDING CFL is seeking a talented and experienced Civil and Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Penang. This is a full‑time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design, planning, and execution of significant civil and structural engineering projects. As a Civil and Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high‑quality engineering solutions that meet both client requirements and regulatory standards. Your expertise will be essential in supporting the company's commitment to excellence and innovation within the construction and engineering sector.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting site surveys and feasibility studies to assess project requirements and environmental conditions
• Developing detailed structural designs and technical drawings using industry‑standard software and tools
• Preparing comprehensive engineering reports and calculations to support project proposals and submissions
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance and timely delivery
• Overseeing construction activities and providing on‑site engineering support during project implementation
• Reviewing and approving construction materials, specifications, and methodologies to ensure quality standards
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architects, quantity surveyors, and project managers
• Identifying and mitigating structural and construction risks throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and adopting best practices in engineering design and construction

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
• A minimum of 1-3 years of post‑graduation experience in civil and structural engineering design and project delivery
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, Esteem, Prota, AutoCAD, or similar tools
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations applicable to civil and structural engineering in Malaysia
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in team environments
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail in all engineering deliverables
• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is desirable
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green construction standards is advantageous
