Job summary

MGES Construction Sdn. Bhd. in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia seeks a site coordination professional with a background in quantity surveying or civil/construction management.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in civil/road construction, quantity surveying, site coordination or project coordination.
  • Candidates with strong QS knowledge and relevant construction experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Good understanding of BOQ, quantity take-off, costing, quotations, progress claims and variation orders.
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor daily road construction activities and site progress.

  • Follow up on ongoing project activities and outstanding site matters.
  • Coordinate machinery and equipment availability and maintenance.
  • Attend project progress meetings and HR site attendance records.
  • Assist CIDB certificate renewals and related documents.

Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Coordinate and monitor daily road construction project activities and site progress.

  • Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, machinery and equipment.

  • Prepare and check BOQ, quantity measurements, quotations, cost estimates and project costing.

  • Assist with preparation of progress claims, invoices and variation orders (VO).

  • Monitor project costs, quantities and profitability.

  • Prepare monthly project Profit & Loss (P&L) reports.

  • Liaise with main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

  • Prepare and maintain site diaries, daily reports and project documentation.

  • Follow up on ongoing project activities and outstanding site matters.

  • Coordinate machinery and equipment availability for project work and external rental.

  • Monitor machinery and truck insurance, road tax and PUSPAKOM inspection requirements.

  • Coordinate machinery repairs, maintenance and spare-parts requirements.

  • Arrange project materials such as tack coat, spare parts and other construction materials.

  • Monitor and reconcile project-related company credit-card expenses.

  • Attend project progress meetings with main contractors and relevant contractors.

  • Coordinate with HR regarding daily site attendance records.

  • Assist with annual renewal of CIDB certificates and other relevant company documentation.

  • Perform other project-related duties assigned by Manager.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in civil/road construction, quantity surveying, site coordination or project coordination.

  • Candidates with strong QS knowledge and relevant construction experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Good understanding of BOQ, quantity take-off, costing, quotations, progress claims and variation orders.

  • Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications and project documentation.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

  • Good communication, coordination and negotiation skills.

  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines and handle multiple project matters.

  • Willing to travel to project sites when required.

  • Possess a valid driving licence.
