Job summary

SMJ ENERGY in Sabah is seeking a Head of Group IT to lead and secure the group’s technology environment across SMJE and its affiliates. You will oversee infrastructure, networks, cloud services, cybersecurity, end-user support, and vendor relationships to ensure reliable, scalable operations.

The role requires leadership, hands-on Dynamics 365 ERP management, governance, and a strategic digital agenda. You will drive digital transformation, data governance, AI initiatives, and cost-efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• 8–10 years in IT infra, systems admin, or operations.
• 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
• Vendor management, IT project delivery, and cybersecurity controls.
• Hands-on Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience mandatory.
• Networking basics & firewall configuration knowledge.
• Windows Server and cloud expertise (Azure/AWS/GC).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443, COBIT, ITIL.
• ERP architecture and system integration leadership with Dynamics 365.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and IT helpdesk experience.
• AI, Generative AI, ML concepts and data management familiarity.
• Oil & gas or energy exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, and end-user environments.
• Oversee DR, security, governance, and policy compliance.
• Drive digital strategy and transformation initiatives.
• Manage Dynamics 365 ERP deployment and ecosystem.
• Oversee data, analytics, and AI strategy and initiatives.
• Manage IT procurement, vendor relationships, and SLAs.
• Lead IT team, manage budgets, and align tech with business goals.
• Collaborate with business leaders on IT investments.
