Job summary

JINTEC INNOVATION SDN. BHD. in Perai, Penang, is seeking a CAD Engineer to translate concepts into detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing.

You will use AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA or NX, collaborate with mechanical engineers, prepare assembly drawings and BOMs, and help improve designs with cost and manufacturability considerations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD software to create 2D drawings and 3D models.
• Solid understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.
• Strong ability to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation.
• Familiarity with ISO, GD&T standards is a plus.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX or similar.
• Collaborate with engineers to refine designs per specs and requirements.
• Prepare assembly drawings, BOMs and manufacturing instructions.
• Conduct design reviews ensuring compliance with standards and company specs.
• Support modification and optimization of existing designs to reduce costs.
• Liaise with manufacturing to resolve issues and maintain CAD data.
• Maintain organized CAD files and version control.
• Identify design improvements for efficiency.

We are seeking a talented CAD Engineer to join JINTEC INNOVATION SDN. BHD. in Perai, Penang. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of mechanical engineering design and innovation. In this role, you will play a crucial part in translating conceptual ideas into detailed technical drawings and 3D models that guide the manufacturing and assembly of our products. Your work will directly impact the quality, feasibility, and success of our engineering projects, making this a strategically important position within our engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar applications


• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and design teams to develop and refine product designs based on technical specifications and requirements


• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including assembly drawings, part lists, and manufacturing instructions


• Conduct design reviews and ensure all drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and company specifications


• Support the modification and optimisation of existing designs to improve functionality and reduce production costs


• Liaise with manufacturing and production teams to resolve design-related issues and provide technical clarification


• Maintain accurate and organised CAD files and design databases for easy retrieval and version control


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying design enhancements and manufacturing efficiencies

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline


• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or equivalent design tools


• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes


• Excellent technical drawing and design documentation skills with attention to detail


• Knowledge of engineering standards and tolerancing practices (ISO, GD&T)


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment whilst managing multiple projects simultaneously


• Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to translate complex requirements into practical designs


• Good communication skills in English, with the ability to liaise with cross-functional teams


• Experience in mechanical product design, manufacturing, or related engineering sectors (preferred)


• Familiarity with simulation and analysis tools such as FEA or CFD (advantageous)
