Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years in manufacturing or automation to join our team in Seberang Perai. You will design and draft using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor, and translate customer drawings into detailed specifications.

You will prepare machine manuals, maintain equipment, review drawings, create BOMs, and support procurement. Occasional on-site assistance during installation, testing, and commissioning is expected, along with ensuring ISO 9001:2015

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or automation.
• Proficient in MS Office and CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
• Experience in machine design including DFx, casting considerations, and design optimization.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, GD&T, and engineering terminology.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, quality management systems and engineering best practices.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects within established timelines.

Responsibilities

• Strong proficiency in CAD software to support design and drafting tasks.
• Interpret customer drawings to ensure design aligns with requirements.
• Prepare machine manuals documenting operational and maintenance procedures.
• Full responsibility for machine status, ensuring machines are maintained and functioning throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and verify engineering drawings and prepare BOMs to support procurement and manufacturing.
• Raise Purchase Requisition to purchase parts.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed design specifications and provide expert technical solutions.
• Provide on-site support for mechanical-related issues during installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Perform pre-buy-off inspections to verify compliance with customer requirements prior to delivery or acceptance.
• Ensure compliance with all ISO standards, company policies, safety practices, SOPs, work instructions, and guidelines.
• Attend project kick-off meetings to fully understand scope, requirements and deliverables.
• Carry out other duties and assignments as instructed by management.

B. Job Competency

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Inventor.
• Proven experience in machine design, including design-for-manufacturing principles, casting considerations, machine operating sequences, and design optimization.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, GD&T, and engineering terminology.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide practical technical solutions.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001:2015 requirements, quality management systems, and engineering best practices.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects within established timelines.
