Cantal Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, seeks an engineer to interpret complex mechanical drawings and specifications. You will generate accurate BOMs, monitor production processes for quality and output, and use CAD tools to improve part design for cost efficiency and manufacturability.

Drawing Interpretation: Analyze and accurately interpret complex mechanical product drawings, detailed layouts, and engineering specifications.
BOM Management: Work out comprehensive and accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) based on detailed product drawings to ensure all necessary components are accounted for.
Production & Quality Follow-Up: Monitor the production process closely, balancing output speed with strict adherence to product quality standards.
CAD Design & Innovation: Utilize CAD software to invent, modify, or improve mechanical parts, enclosures, and components for better manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
Production Support: Act as the technical bridge between the design and production teams, troubleshooting assembly issues and ensuring smooth fabrication on the shop floor.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 2D/3D modeling tools).
Proven ability to read, understand, and interpret detailed technical drawings and mechanical layouts.
Solid understanding of generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOM).
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment (experience with sheet metal fabrication or switchboard manufacturing is a strong advantage).
Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving shop-floor engineering challenges.
