Job summary

PCA Group Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to utilise SolidWorks and AutoCAD for developing mechanical components and assemblies.

You will prepare detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications for manufacturing, and collaborate with production and procurement to ensure successful implementation of designs. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years in design engineering, proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of design engineering experience in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modelling and 2D drafting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed drawings, models, and manufacturing specifications.
• Collaborate with production and procurement to implement designs successfully.
• Create BOMs and cost estimates for new products and update changes.
• Produce visual designs using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and SolidWorks.

The Job

Utilising SolidWorks and AutoCAD to design and develop mechanical components and assemblies

Preparing detailed engineering drawings, models, and specifications for manufacturing

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production and procurement, to ensure the successful implementation of designs

Responsibilities

To develop and creating new products or systems based on specifications and requirements provided by customers.

To collaborate with other professionals (Project Manager, manufactures and quality assurance personnel) to ensure that the product is produced based on customer’s concept and requirements.

To develop BOM & costing for new products and update existing BOM on any changes of materials or unit prices.

To creates visual designs based on client requirements. Using software Adobe Illustrator & photoshop and solidwork.

The Candidate

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field

Minimum 3 years of experience in design engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Proficient in the use of SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modelling, 2D drafting, and design analysis

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team

Familiarity with engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and design standards

Adaptability to changes in technology and a willingness to learn new skills
