Job summary

Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a CAD Drafter to support Engineers in preparing schematic and 3D drawings using AutoCAD. You will update 2D CAD drawings with BOMs, ensure compliance with PNID and CAD standards, and maintain clear labeling, layers, and documentation.

Fresh graduates are welcome. The role involves collaborating with BIM/CAD teams, verifying site conditions, and assisting in as-built and handover drawings for project completion.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in CAD drafting for mechanical, piping, UHP, or semiconductor/cleanroom projects preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Professional; willing to learn advanced CAD/BIM tools.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy in drafting.

Responsibilities

• Draft and prepare drawings for projects, including schematic and 3D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare, modify, and update 2D CAD drawings including BOMs as per approved design.
• Ensure drawings comply with PNID/project instructions and CAD standards.
• Labeling, annotations, layering, scaling, and clarity in all CAD drawings.

Job description

Work closely with Engineers and responsible for all drafting and preparation of drawings for projects, including schematic drawings, 3D drawings, etc using AutoCAD;

Responsible for preparing, modifying, and updating 2D CAD drawings including preparation of bill of materials (BOM) as per approved design by clients;

Ensure drawings comply with PNID/project instructions/guideline and CAD standards;

Ensure proper labelling, annotations, layering, scaling, dimensioning, and clarity in all CAD drawings;

Organize and maintain drawing files, revision logs, and transmittals in accordance with project document control procedures;

Draft and update isometric drawings based on approved P&IDs and approved design specifications;

Work with BIM/CAD teams to align 2D drawings with 3D models, ensuring no conflicts or mismatches between different design layers or trades;

Coordinate closely with Project Engineers, QAQC, and Site Supervisors to collect site measurements, verify installation conditions, and ensure drawings reflect actual as build and field conditions;

Participate in site walkdowns when needed to verify installation progress and support drawing updates or troubleshooting tasks;

Assist in preparing and maintaining as-built drawings, ensuring all markups, changes, and site redlines are accurately incorporated before submission to Project Engineer or client;

Involve in preparing final drawing handover documentation for project completion, ensuring all drawings are reviewed, stamped, and compiled according to client requirements.

Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field;

Experience in CAD drafting for mechanical, piping, UHP, or semiconductor/cleanroom projects preferred;

Proficient skills in AutoCAD Professional, good attitude and willingness to learn advanced CAD/BIM tools;

Certified in Autodesk AutoCAD or supported by a strong CAD portfolio reference;

Good attention to detail and accuracy in drafting;

Strong organizational skills, especially in managing revisions and file structures;

Responsible, disciplined, and able to work independently;

Detail-oriented with strong quality awareness;

Cooperative, proactive, and able to adapt to project changes;
