Job summary

Bond Group in Malaysia is seeking an MEP Autocad Drafter (Electrical Background) to prepare, modify, and analyse technical drawings for lighting, small power and ELV systems. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of drafting HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage using AutoCAD.

You will review drawings, coordinate with structural and architectural teams, prepare as-built drawings, and ensure compliance with latest authority regulations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering with CAD training.
• Minimum 3 years in the MEP industry.
• Experience in hospitality, commercial, residential projects, fit-out and high-rise buildings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and basic Revit.

Responsibilities

• Review basic design and tender drawings issued by project consultants.
• Study architectural, structural, and interior design drawings.
• Update drawings based on corrections marked by engineers.
• Produce high-quality drawings using CAD software.
• Create MEP plans, sections, elevations, and details accurately.
• Shall prepare lighting layouts, power circuits, load schedules, and single-line diagrams.
• Coordinate MEP services with structural and architectural works.
• Prepare as-built drawings and maintain awareness of authority regulations.
• Monitor progress and report drawing-related activities using MS Office.

MEP Autocad Drafter (Electrical Background)

The MEP Draftsman is responsible for preparing, modifying, and analysing technical drawings for MEP projects, with core design knowledge of lighting, small power, and ELV systems. The candidate shall also have basic knowledge of drafting HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, and drainage installations using drafting software such as AutoCAD.

Job Responsibilities

Reviews basic design and tender drawings issued by project consultants.

Studies architectural, structural, and interior design (ID) drawings of the project.

Updates drawings based on corrections marked by engineers.

Produces high-quality drawings using CAD software.

Creates MEP plans, sections, elevations, and details accurately.

Shall have knowledge of electrical design to prepare lighting layouts, power circuits, load schedules, single-line diagrams, cable tray layouts, cable sizing and voltage drop calculations, electrical and telecommunications room detail layouts, LV room layouts, generator room layouts, and riser diagrams.

Shall be proficient in preparing coordination drawings.

Coordinates MEP services with other services, including structural, architectural, and other related works.

Measures quantities of related items when required.

Prepares as-built drawings.

Maintains full awareness of the latest authority regulations and requirements related to the relevant services.

Manages drawing-related activities to meet project targets by regularly monitoring and reporting work progress, and shall have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Prepares, modifies, and analyses electrical and mechanical project drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD.

Closely coordinates with the Design Manager, MEP Engineers, and Project Managers to collect design inputs and review drawings.

Requirements

Experience in MEP contracting and fit-out projects.

Experience in hospitality, commercial buildings, residential projects, fit-out projects, and high-rise buildings.

Minimum educational, professional, and vocational qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering and CAD training, such as AutoCAD and Revit.

Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience in the MEP industry.

Computer skills: AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Ability to work independently.
